The town of Falls Church is located in Fairfax County in Northern Virginia and  is part of the greater Washington D.C. metro area. The town itself dates way back to the 1600s and got its start as a Colonial settlement shared with Native Americans. It officially became a township is 1875. 

Today Falls Church is a unique small town that has lovingly preserved much of the great history in the area and is known for its friendly residents, cultural diversity, beautiful park-like surroundings, and great properties.

The Historic Falls Church

This historic church house is what the town of falls church was centered on when it first began to grow and develop into a community. It came to be named Falls Church for its location near the falls on the Potomac River. 

Cherry Hill Farmhouse

A historic family farm started in 1845. This farm was once a thriving business with over 73-acres and survived through the Civil War despite being raided, requisitioned, and constantly overrun during that time. The farm is now owned by the city and is used as a historic landmark. 

The State Theater

Once a popular movie house from the 1930's to the 80's it is now a live music venue and available for private events. 

ArtSpace 

This is a center for the arts with  a small performing arts theater area and art gallery. The Creative Cauldron offers affordable education arts programs here, professional live theater performances, music, dance, and more for both adults and children. 

Trails 

There are several great trails to meander along, run, bike etc. that wind through the town of Falls Church and the parks. Some include historic walking tours such as the Civil War Trail. 

Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park

Washington and Old Dominion Railroad Regional Park is often referred to as Virginia's skinniest park. It is a paved trail running from Shirlington and Purceville that was once an old railroad route winding through some of the best scenery. Visitors love to bike, walk, and run the trail. A portion of the trail runs through Falls Church.

Commuting From Falls Church Virginia

City Hall in Falls Church is just 9 miles from the White House in Washington D.C. There is easy access to everywhere you may need to get to in the Washington D.C. metro area by car on the I-66 and I-50. 

For those that prefer to commute using public transportation, there are two metro stations near Falls Church, the East Falls Church Metro Station and the West Falls Church Metro Station. which both service the orange line. Falls Church also has a number of convenient bus routes.
